Hauptmann Gottfried Schädlich (20.03.1917 in Kirchberg-Zwickau † 12.05.2007 in Brühl) earned the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold on January 13, 1944 and the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on July 9, 1944 as Hauptmann und Kommandeur of the I. Bataillon/ Grenadier-Regiment 514 of the 294. Infanterie-Division.
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
