Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo of Valentin Dietz. Oberstleutnant Valentin Dietz (12.11.1912 † 06.07.1989) earned the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold on October 27, 1942 with 1. Kompanie/ Jäger-Regiment 204 and Ritterkreuz on December 30, 1943 as Hauptmann und Führer of the I. Bataillon/ Jäger-Regiment 204 of the 97. Jäger-Division.
Knigh’s Cross: “On the southern sector of the eastern front the I. and II. Bataillonen of the Jäger-Regiment 204 under Hauptmann Dietz and Hauptmann Widner have achieved outstanding defensive successes in hard combat against a far numerically superior enemy. They did this via their own exemplary conduct.”
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
