Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo of Alfred Gies. Oberfeldwebel Alfred Gies (07.04.1912 in Weiburg-Lahn † 21.05.1993 in Frankfurt am Main) earned the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on December 16, 1944 as Oberfeldwebel und Flugzeugführer in the 1. Staffel/ Schlachtgeschwader 2 “Immelmann”.
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
