Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo of Martin Kühne. Hauptmann Martin Kühne (01.11.1918 † 25.03.2003) earned the Ritterkreuz on February 29, 1944 as Hauptmann und Kommandeur of the I. Bataillon/ Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 2 of the 2. Fallschirmjäger-Division.

Awarded for the contributions of his I./Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 2 during the battle for the island of Leros in the time 12-16.11.1943. This operation would end in a total German victory, which saw them capture 120 heavy guns, 16 heavy and 20 light AA guns, 2000 British and 5000 Italian soldiers.

Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
