Siegling (15 March 1918 – 5 September 1984) served as SS-Untersturmführer and reconnaissance patrol leader (Spähtruppführer) in the 1./SS-Panzer-Aufklärungs-Abteilung 2, part of the elite 2. SS-Panzer-Division “Das Reich.”
He was awarded the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes (Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross) on 2 December 1943 for his leadership and bravery during reconnaissance operations on the Eastern Front.
