The Kriegshilfsdienst (“War Auxiliary Service”) was introduced during the later war years when female members of the Reich Labour Service were increasingly assigned to support duties connected to the German war effort. These included administrative work, communications, logistics, air raid assistance, and other auxiliary wartime functions.
