Original Belgian Army Bonnet de Police (Kwartiermuts) dating from the WWII period, attributed to the 1ste Linie Regiment, complete with its original brass regimental numeral “1” and red wool kwispel (tassel).
This attractive wartime example retains its original dark blue piping and displays a pleasing field-used appearance with honest age and service wear throughout. The cap remains well-shaped overall and has strong display appeal.
Inside, several period ink stamps remain faintly visible, together with what appears to be a hand-sewn blood group marking in red thread to the lining cloth, a characteristic occasionally encountered on wartime Belgian military headgear.
An untouched and authentic Belgian Army wartime sidecap, increasingly difficult to find complete with its original red kwispel and regimental insignia.
