WWII British Royal Tank Regiment RTR Black Beret with Cap Badge – 1944
Original British World War II-era black beret of the Royal Tank Regiment (RTR), complete with its original white metal cap badge.
A very attractive wartime example in classic black wool construction, retaining excellent shape and strong display appeal. The interior shows clear wartime markings including size 6⅞, maker mark for Surpak Manufacturing Co Ltd, and a War Department stamp with “M” date code, indicating 1944 production. The additional marking 771 is believed to be the inspector’s acceptance number.
The beret remains in very nice overall condition with honest period wear and light usage marks consistent with age. The badge is nicely fitted, and the beret has an excellent untouched appearance throughout.
