Wehrmacht-Führerschein (Military Driver’s License) – Aufstellungsstab Baumholder / Heimat-Kraftfahr-Bezirk XII

An original Wehrmacht-Führerschein (Military Driver’s License) issued to Alois Langer, born 25 March 1909 in Deutsch-Neukirch.

The document was issued on 2 March 1942 in Wiesbaden by the Heimat Kraftfahr Bezirk XII and authorized the holder to operate motor vehicles with internal combustion engines in classes 1b and 3. The driver’s license bears its original official ink stamps and signatures, together with an excellent original portrait photograph of Langer.

The document identifies him as serving with an Aufstellungsstab Baumholder based at Baumholder.

Unlike standard civilian driver’s licenses, Wehrmacht driver’s licenses with uniformed portraits are considerably more desirable among collectors, particularly when issued to a clearly identified artillery motor transport soldier. The original cloth-covered construction, official wartime stamps, and attractive portrait make this a very displayable piece of Wehrmacht documentation.
