Civil German Führerschein (Civil Driver’s License)

An original German Führerschein (Driver’s License) issued on 12 August 1938 to Georg Brodin, born 29 August 1900 in Münsterfeld.

The license was issued by the Landrat and includes the original passport photograph secured with official rivets and overlapping governmental ink stamps, together with the owner’s handwritten signature. It authorized the holder to operate motor vehicles with internal combustion engines.

The document retains its official issue stamps, handwritten entries and signatures, while the reverse records the holder’s personal details, address and the payment of the 1 Reichsmark issuance fee.

Pre-war civilian Führerscheine are increasingly sought after as representative documents from everyday life in the Third Reich, especially examples retaining their original photograph and official period stamps.

The document remains in very good condition with honest age-related handling wear, while the photograph, stamps and handwritten entries remain clear and well preserved.
