Original German Wound Badge in Black (Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz), produced in iron (Eisen) and remaining unmarked. The back seems to have been cleaned of the black finish to give it a complete golden look.
A classic wartime example of the 1939-pattern Wound Badge, featuring the characteristic blackened iron construction and original period pin-back assembly.
