Original Hitlerjugend (HJ) Schießauszeichnung für Schützen, a period Third Reich proficiency badge awarded for demonstrated shooting ability within the Hitler Youth.

The badge features the characteristic concentric target design, with the HJ diamond and crossed rifles to the centre. The red and white enamelled sections remain clearly visible, giving the badge its distinctive appearance. The reverse is fitted with the original pin and is marked RZM M7/68 together with the RZM manufacturer’s mark. Comparable examples of the HJ Schießauszeichnung are documented with RZM manufacturer markings and original pin assemblies.

This is the “für Schützen” version, rather than the later/higher Scharfschützen award. The Schießauszeichnung für Schützen was introduced in the mid-1930s as part of the HJ’s system of shooting proficiency awards and was worn as a small breast badge.

The badge is in used condition, with visible age, wear and some surface oxidation/discolouration to the reverse, while the front retains a good amount of its original enamel finish. Please study the photographs carefully for the exact condition.

A nice original example of a relatively small but very distinctive piece of Hitlerjugend insignia, ideal for an HJ collection or display.
