Original WWII German Wehrmacht award document for the Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwertern (War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords), awarded to Obergefreiter Friedhoff of the 3. Kompanie/ Pionier-Bataillon 50.

Dated 9 June 1941, the document was issued under the authority of the commanding general of the III Army Corps, General der Kavallerie Hans von Mackensen. It bears the printed designation of the commanding general, an official service seal, a handwritten signature in the authentication section, and additional handwritten administrative annotations.

The War Merit Cross with Swords recognised military merit in connection with service involving enemy action. The award date is particularly interesting, falling just twelve days before the launch of Operation Barbarossa, the German invasion of the Soviet Union on 22 June 1941.

An interesting original document for collectors of Wehrmacht award certificates, military paperwork, German pioneer troops and WWII award history.

Condition: Shows age-related paper toning, two punched holes along the left margin, handwritten entries and corrections, and a partially faded official seal. The signature and printed details remain visible. Please examine the photographs carefully for the exact condition.

An original historical document, offered as a collectible piece of WWII military history.
