3x Award Docs (VWA GOLD (!), EK2 & WIO) – Grenadier-Regiment 408 (121. Infanterie-Division)

An interesting three-document award group belonging to Fritz Moshage, who served with 8./ Grenadier-Regiment 408.

The group consists of:

• Besitzzeugnis zum Verwundetenabzeichen in Gold (Wound Badge in Gold), awarded to Obergefreiter Fritz Moshage following his one-time wound sustained on 20. April 1942. The certificate was issued at Knechtsteden on 25. Februar 1943, bearing the medical service stamp and the signature of an Oberfeldarzt.
• Urkunde zum Eisernen Kreuz 2. Klasse (Iron Cross 2nd Class), awarded to Unteroffizier Fritz Moshage at Münster on 30. März 1943. Issued under the authority of the General der Infanterie und Befehlshaber im Wehrkreis VI, with an official seal and signature.
• Urkunde zur Medaille Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42 (Ostmedaille / Eastern Front Medal), issued to Unteroffizier Fritz Moshage and dated 26. Januar 1944, with an official medical service stamp and certification.

A compelling grouping featuring the Wound Badge in Gold, a significant award reflecting the severity of the recipient’s wound, alongside the Iron Cross 2nd Class and Eastern Front Medal. The documents provide a useful record of Moshage’s service and awards.
