Major Siegfried Gerstner (16.11.1916 † 11.01.2013) earned the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold on June 17, 1942 as Oberleutnant in the 4. Kompanie/ Fallschirm-Pionier-Bataillon of the 7. Flieger-Division and the Ritterkreuz on September 13, 1944 as Major und Kommandeur of the II. Bataillon/ Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 7 of the 2. Fallschirmjäger-Division. Good condition. Measuring: 6×8,7cm. Comes with an extra signed letter piece.
Knight’s Cross: “Gerstner was recommended for the Knight’s Cross on account of his success in demolitions during the fighting for Fortress Brest. He played a major role in eliminating potential Allied entry routes into the city.”
