Postwar Signature of Kai Bräundle-Schmidt, who earned the Knight's Cross with Grenadier-Regiment 501 of the 290. Infanterie-Division.

On the 07.02.1944 Hauptmann Bräundle-Schmidt was involved in defeating a Soviet breakthrough attempt during the defensive fighting northwest of Newel. Although being wounded himself he led a small group of soldiers (which included his own messengers and communication staff) in a counterthrust, ejected a Siberian ski company from the German trenches and retook the German defensive position atop the vital Gora Hill. He would later be awarded the Knight’s Cross for this actions.

Scarce Signature of Pio Filippani Ronconi, Veteran and Officer of the Legione SS Italiana and 29. Waffen-Grenadier-Division der SS (italienische Nr. 1). Signed on a paper copy. When Italy entered World War II (10 June 1940), he enlisted as a volunteer, fighting in Libya. He was wounded twice and he was decorated for his valour. After the fall of Benito Mussolini and the creation of the Italian Social Republic, he enlisted in the Italian SS-Legion, later reorganized as the 29th Division of the Waffen-SS “Italia” reaching the rank of Obersturmführer. He fought at Nettuno, receiving the Second-Class Iron Cross during the battle. He was probably the last surviving member of the Bataillon "Degli Oddi". (Reference: Wikipedia)

Postwar Signature of Rochus Misch. Rochus Misch (29 July 1917 – 5 September 2013) was a German Oberscharführer (sergeant) in the 1st SS Panzer Division Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler (LSSAH). He was badly wounded during the Polish campaign during the first month of World War II in Europe. After recovering, from 1940 to April 1945, he served in the Führerbegleitkommando (Führer Escort Command; FBK) as a bodyguard, courier, and telephone operator for German dictator Adolf Hitler. He was widely reported in the media as being the last surviving occupant of the Führerbunker when he died in September 2013.

He was a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords of Nazi Germany. Niemack later took command of the Panzer Lehr Division on 10 January 1945, succeeding General Fritz Bayerlein. From 1956 Niemack served as chairman of the Association of Knight's Cross Recipients (AKCR).

Interesting Waffen-SS Portrait of a Member of a "Totenkopf" unit, serving with the SS-Totenkopf-Standarte "Brandenburg" (as seen on the smaller photograph, which depict him with the Brandenburg Cufftitle). He took part in the annexiation of the Sudetenland (as seen wearing the Prague Ribbon Bar) and likely went on to serve in the SS-Division "Totenkopf" after the "Brandenburg" units came back to Germany in 1939 (after taking part in the Poland Campaign, connected to the Einsatzgruppe III in the area of the 8. Armee), a large group of personnel was incooperated into the SS-Totenkopf-Infanterie-Regiment 2 of the SS-Totenkopf-Division.

Paul Hausser (7 October 1880 – 21 December 1972) was a German general and then a high-ranking commander in the Waffen-SS who played a key role in the post-war efforts by former members of the Waffen-SS to achieve historical and legal rehabilitation. Hausser served as an officer in the Prussian Army during World War I and attained the rank of general in the inter-war Reichsheer. After retirement, he joined the SS and was instrumental in forming the Waffen-SS. During World War II, he rose to the level of army group commander. He led Waffen-SS troops in the Third Battle of Kharkov, the Battle of Kursk and the Normandy Campaign. Hausser was the highest-ranking officer in the Waffen-SS alongside Sepp Dietrich. Unlike Dietrich, Hausser was a trained staff officer before joining the SS. After the war he became a founding member and the first spokesperson of HIAG.
