Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo of Heinrich Meyering. Leutnant Heinrich Meyering (30.11.1919 in Leer † 13.07.2003 in Lohr) earned the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzeson April 6, 1944 as Feldwebel und Flugzeugführer in the 3. Staffel/ Schlachtgeschwader 2 “Immelmann”.
Heinrich Meyering completed a total of 972 combat missions with the Ju 87 and was one of the most successful Stuka pilots in SG-2. Ritterkreuz awarded after flying 895 sorties. He along with his radio operator (Willibald Zipfel) were the only Stuka NCOs to receive the Knight's Cross. (Source: TracesofWar)
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
