Original Wartime Signature on a Wartime Photo of Hans Traut. Generalleutnant Hans Traut (25.01.1895 in Saargemünd † 09.12.1974 in Darmstadt) earned the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on August 5, 1940 as Oberstleutnant und Kommandeur of the I. Bataillon/ Infanterie-Regiment 90 of the 20. Infanterie-Division; the Eichenlaub on January 23, 1942 as Oberst und Führer of the 10. Infanterie-Division and the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold on December 15, 1943 as Generalleutnant und Kommandeur of the 78. Sturm-Division.
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
