Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo of Günther Bierbrauer. Feldwebel Günther Bierbrauer (20.05.1922 in Stuttgart † 26.06.2019 in Stuttgart) earned the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on April 17, 1945 as Feldwebel in the 14. Staffel/ Kampfgeschwader 27 “Boelcke”.
Awarded for distinguishing himself over the course of 430 bomber sorties. He particularly excelled as a train-busting pilot during the latter part of his career. In this capacity he destroyed or badly damaged 49 transport trains with more than 2000 railway cars over the course of 171 sorties. Almost all of these were flown at night and at very low altitudes. Particularly noteworthy were his attacks against the railway stations at Proletardkik (06.09.1943), Fastov (beginning of 1944) and Krasny (05.08.1944).
