Kompanie/ Infanterie-Regiment 21 & 7. Kompanie/ Infanterie-Regiment 21 of the 17. Infanterie-Division until he met his fate on January 2, 1942 when he was Killed in Action by a bullet to the head near Michejewa. During his service, he was decorated with the Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen in Silber and Winterschlacht im Osten.
