Original and very nice three-document award grouping to Gefreiter Karl Lauxmann of the 12. Batterie/ Artillerie-Regiment 205, consisting of his Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse, Medaille Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42 (Ostmedaille) and Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz certificates.

The grouping is particularly interesting because all three documents are directly connected to the recipient’s service with Artillerie-Regiment 205 of the 205. Infanterie-Division, documenting his awards between 1942 and 1943. The 205. Infanterie-Division was serving on the Eastern Front during this period, in the Velizh–Velikiye Luki sector.

Awards documents include:

Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse, awarded to Gefreiter Karl Lauxmann, 12./Art.-Rgt. 205, on 20 August 1942. The certificate is issued “Im Namen des Führers und Obersten Befehlshabers der Wehrmacht” and is signed by the Generalmajor und Kommandeur der 205. Infanterie-Division. At the time, the division was commanded by Generalmajor Paul Seyffardt, who had taken command of the 205. Infanterie-Division on 1 March 1942.

The second certificate awards Lauxmann the Medaille Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42, commonly known as the Ostmedaille. Date: 20 July 1942. The division which had been transferred to the Eastern Front in early 1942, was engaged in operations in the Velizh area during this period.

The third document is the Besitzzeugnis for the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz. It records that Lauxmann received the award on the basis of a single wound or injury sustained on 12 June 1943. The exceptionally short interval between the recorded wound on 12 June 1943 and the award on 13 June 1943 is a particularly interesting feature of the document.

Condition: Original untouched period condition. The certificates show age toning, folds, handling/storage wear and minor spotting consistent with genuine wartime paperwork. Original period stamps, signatures and printing remain present.
