Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo of Albert Witte. Oberwachtmeister Albert Witte (05.12.1916 † 11.02.2009) earned the Ritterkreuz on March 11, 1945 as Oberwachtmeister und Zugführer in the 1. Kompanie/ Sturmgeschütz-Brigade 394. Good condition. Signed on reverse. Postcardsize.

Awarded the Knight’s Cross for actions during the German operation Nordwind. During the heavy fighting for Sessenheim the paratroopers which his platoon was attached to found themselves pinned down by heavy fire outside the town. By his initiative he took a risk and led his assault guns forward to engage the defending AT guns and tanks at close range, where they succeeded in destroying several. With this accomplished the German paratroopers were able to subsequently break through.
