Allgemeines-Sturmabzeichen – General Assault Badge – Unmarked
Original WWII German Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen (General Assault Badge) in zinc construction.
The badge features the classic design of an oakleaf wreath enclosing a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a swastika above crossed grenade and bayonet. Introduced in 1940, the Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen was awarded to Wehrmacht personnel who participated in multiple combat engagements but did not qualify for the Infantry Assault Badge.
This example is an unmarked zinc piece with attractive untouched patina and honest period wear. The silver finish has toned down over time, which is commonly seen on wartime zinc awards. The reverse retains its original setup with barrel hinge, round wire pin, and flat catch.
Condition is very good overall, showing natural age, wear, and oxidation consistent with an original wartime badge. Hardware remains intact and functional. A nice original example with strong display appeal.
