Vizeadmiral August Thiele (26.08.1893 in Charlottenburg † 31.03.1981 in Mölln) earned the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on January 18, 1941 as Kapitän zur See und Kommandant of schwerer Kreuzer “Lützow” and the Eichenlaub on April 8, 1945 as Vizeadmiral und Befehlshaber of Kampfgruppe “Thiele”.
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
