An attractive original wartime studio portrait of a Deutsche Reichsbahn-Helferin (German Reich Railway Auxiliary Woman), photographed in uniform during the Second World War.

The portrait depicts a young woman wearing a dark railway service uniform with a matching Schiffchen (garrison cap). The cap displays the national eagle insignia and a circular cockade-style badge. Particularly noteworthy are the Reichsbahn collar tabs (railway service collar insignia), featuring the characteristic winged-wheel emblem associated with German railway personnel.

Historical background: The Deutsche Reichsbahn (German State Railway) was central to Germany’s transport infrastructure during the Second World War, moving passengers, supplies and military traffic. Female personnel also served in railway-related auxiliary and administrative roles. This original portrait documents the uniformed appearance of a woman associated with the wartime railway service.

The reverse is printed with „Primosa“, a photographic paper or studio-related marking. No personal dedication, date or clearly legible photographer’s details are visible.

Condition: Original sepia-toned photographic portrait with attractive contrast and good detail. The photograph shows age-related discoloration, minor spotting and light handling wear. The edges are irregular, consistent with the original photographic finish. The reverse is largely blank.
