Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo of Franz Gapp. Oberfeldwebel Franz Gapp (08.07.1919 † 08.09.2015) earned the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold on August 21, 1942 as Feldwebel in the 8. Staffel/ Lehrgeschwader 1 and the Ritterkreuz on September 18, 1943 as Oberfeldwebel und Flugzeugführer in the 8. Staffel/ Kampfgeschwader 6.

Gapp ended up flying the Me-262, scoring several aerial victories over B-24s and downed one P-38 Lightning!

Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
