Postwar Signatere of Friedrich Wunderlich; earned the German Cross in Gold as Flottillenchef der 22. Unterseebootsjagdflottille and the Knight’s Cross as Commander of the 14. U-Jagdflottille. He died in 1977. Photograph was knicked at the top (see scan).
“Lieutenant commander Friedrich Wunderlich has proved his worth as captain of a submarine hunter and later as commander of a submarine hunter flotilla. During his first command he sunk an enemy submarine and heavily damaged two more. In heavy combat with english Bombers he also shot down a bomber with a 2cm cannon and machine guns. Over the course of his second command the submarine hunter flotilla under his leadership was able to shoot down 12 aircraft and sink one destroyer escort, four torpedo boats, and an artillery boat. It also swept 60 mines.”
