An interesting original period photographic publication documenting the French Campaign of 1940, issued under the Generalkommando XXXX. Armeekorps (40th Army Corps).

The cover bears the striking title:

„Vom Rhein zum Atlantik – Feldzug gegen Frankreich – Mai–Juni 1940“

This contemporary publication documents the advance of the XXXX. Armeekorps during the Western Campaign, beginning with the German offensive in May 1940 and continuing through the rapid advance across Luxembourg, Belgium and France towards the Atlantic coast.

The XXXX. Armeekorps, initially serving as a reserve formation of Heeresgruppe A, advanced through southern Belgium and northern France before taking part in the fighting along the Somme and the subsequent advance towards Paris and western France. Its campaign continued as far as the La Rochelle area.

An appealing original historical photographic publication, offering a direct contemporary perspective on the 1940 campaign through the eyes of the corps command.

A desirable item for collectors of German military publications, original wartime photography, campaign literature and unit-related material from the Western Campaign.
