Original Wartime Signature on a Wartime Photo of Hans Traut. Generalleutnant Hans Traut (25.01.1895 in Saargemünd †09.12.1974 in Darmstadt) earned the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on August 5, 1940 as Oberstleutnant und Kommandeur of the I. Bataillon/ Infanterie-Regiment 90 of the 20. Infanterie-Division; the Eichenlaub on January 23, 1942 as Oberst und Führer of the 10. Infanterie-Division and the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold on December 15, 1943 as Generalleutnant und Kommandeur of the 78. Sturm-Division.
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
