Oberfeldwebel Herbert König (17.08.1913 in Hamburg † 29.05.1983 in Kaiserslautern) earned the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold on January 31, 1942 as Feldwebel with the 12. Staffel/ Kampfgeschwader z.b.V. 1 and the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on June 9, 1944 as Oberfeldwebel und Flugzeugführer in the 12. Staffel/ Transportgeschwader 1.
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
