Price revealed when Early Access opens.

Original Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse 1939 (Iron Cross 2nd Class) by maker 120, attributed to the manufacturer Franz Petzl, Wien. The cross retains its original blackened centre, silver-coloured frame and suspension ring, which is stamped with the maker code 120.

Accompanied by its Verleihungstüte (original award packet), printed Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse 1939. The packet bears the retailer’s stamp Franz Petzl, Wien XV, Braunhirschengasse 22, providing an interesting connection to the original Viennese militaria trade.

The Iron Cross was reintroduced in September 1939 and awarded for acts of bravery and military merit during the Second World War.

Condition: The cross shows age-related wear, surface marks and oxidation. The award packet is present, with creasing, discolouration and general age wear. Both are shown in the photographs.

An appealing maker-marked Iron Cross with its matching award packet, suitable for a collection of German military decorations from the Second World War.

Please study all photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description.
