KIA Soldbuch I.R. 685, Feldkdt. 1007, Wehrmacht Prison Verona (4x Awards) (KIA Germany, April 1945)

Original Soldbuch of Oberfeldwebel u. Fahnenjunker d.R. Ludwig Contier, who served with the Infanterie-Regiment 685, Feldkommandantur 1007, Kriegswehrmachtgefängnis Verona and Divisions-Nachschubsführer 3 before ending with the Kraftfahr-Ersatz-Abteilung 23. I largely suspect that either with this unit he was thrown into combat late war or ended up with unit on the front shortly before his death and was not noted in the soldbuch, because he was Killed in Action on April 3, 1945 and is buried in Ibbenbüren-Riesenbecker Berg. He was decorated with the Eisernes Kreuz 2. and 1. Klasse (1914) Frontkämpferkreuz and during World War 2 the Spange zum Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse. Complete with photo. Condition as seen.
