Hauptmann Norbert Kujacinski (11.07.1920 † 02.05.2009) earned the Deutsches Kreuz in Gold and the Ritterkreuz on November 18, 1944 with Panzer-Regiment 23 of the 23. Panzer-Division. He also earned the Panzerkampfabzeichen IV. Stufe (Einsatzahl “75”). Postcardsize.
Knight’s Cross recommandation: On the morning of the 03.10.1944 Hauptmann Kujacinski and his company of Panthers were advancing when they encountered a large group of Soviet medium tanks and assault guns. In the ensuing battle the Germans destroyed 16 tanks and 3 AT guns without loss. Of these, 5 were knocked out by Kujacinski and his crew, bringing his total of destroyed Russian armour to 51. For the destruction of the Russian armoured group, and for personally destroying over 50 Russian tanks over the course of his career, Kujacinski was awarded the Knight’s Cross.
