Rare WWII “Großdeutschland” Shoulder Strap – Infantry – Offiziers-Anwärter
Truly attractive and scarce original WWII German Heer shoulder strap for the Großdeutschland-Division, in the white Waffenfarbe of the Infantry.
This is an early/mid-war M41-pattern enlisted-man’s type shoulder strap, featuring the highly desirable embroidered “GD” cypher in white and the characteristic white infantry piping. Particularly interesting are the two silver-grey NCO-style braid loops (“Laschen”), identifying the wearer as an Offiziers-Anwärter (officer candidate).
The strap is constructed with the standard dark green wool upper surface and regulation-style white piping. The “GD” cypher is machine-embroidered in white, as prescribed for the formation.
