Authentic Scarce Wartime Set of a Waffen-SS Soldbuch, Panzerkampfabzeichen II. Stufe Award document, 1x List of all his Einsatztage for the Panzerkampfabzeichen, 2x Promotions documents and 1x Studioportrait. SS-Unterscharführer Gustav Mekelburg started his frontservice with the 2. Kompanie/ SS-Panzer-Regiment 3 of the 3. SS-Panzer-Division “Totenkopf” until he got wounded in March 1943 near Charkow (during the Third Battle for Charkow) by a ‘Panzervolltreffer’, he received 2nd degree burns to his face and both hands. He spend months recovering until he was reassigned to the 1. Kompanie/ SS-Panzer-Abteilung 16 of the 16. SS Panzer-Grenadier–Division “Reichsführer-SS”. He once again got wounded in July 1944 in Italy. He fought in Italy at Castelnuovo and Colognole. Soon after in 1945, he fought almost continously in Hungary from March to April, earning him the Panzerkampfabzeichen II. Stufe (Einsatzzahl “25”). Until finally being discharged on May 10, 1945. During his service he was promoted several times as well being decorated with the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz, Panzerkampfabzeichen in Silber and the Panzerkampfabzeichen II. Stufe (Einsatzzahl “25”) (not entered in the Soldbuch, likely due the late awarding). All the swastikas have been ‘denazified’ and no photo in the Soldbuch. Otherwise all is in good condition.
