A week later, he was brought to Reserve-Lazarett Donaueschingen, then 2 weeks later to Reserve-Lazarett Bad Dürrheim, Teillazarett Kreuz. He was discharged on June 6, 1944 as “Bedingt k.v. bis 10.7.44” to the Ersatztruppen after he suffered a “Granatsplitter (?) re Oberschenkel, re. Schulters”
Equipped with the 98k (Nr. 42890) on 28.7.44 and returned it on 5.10.44. He received a new rifle (Nr. 6666) on 21.11.44.
