Wehrmacht Feldbinde – Officers’ Belt Buckle – Aluminium

Original Wehrmacht officers’ Feldbinde buckle, manufactured in aluminium. The buckle features the characteristic Wehrmacht eagle with outstretched wings, clutching a wreath containing the swastika, surrounded by an elaborate oak-leaf wreath. The circular buckle is the distinctive officer’s Feldbindenschloss, worn with the Wehrmacht officer’s field belt (Feldbinde).

The construction is particularly attractive, with the silver-coloured aluminium finish contrasting against the darker recessed details of the eagle and oak-leaf wreath. The buckle retains its complete original two-prong rear fastening assembly and belt loop, with no obvious major damage visible in the photographs.

This type of Wehrmacht officers’ Feldbinde was worn by officers with the characteristic leather officer’s belt and differs substantially from the rectangular enlisted/NCO Koppelschloss. The circular, decorative construction and detailed eagle-and-oak-leaf motif are characteristic of the officer’s belt equipment.

Condition: Good original condition, with attractive age-related patina and darker oxidation in the recessed areas, particularly around the eagle and oak-leaf wreath. The raised details remain crisp and the complete fastening mechanism is present. There are some minor surface marks and signs of period wear, but no obvious major damage.

A very attractive original Wehrmacht officers’ Feldbinde buckle, with the desirable aluminium construction and well-preserved eagle and oak-leaf wreath. An excellent piece of original Wehrmacht officer’s uniform equipment and a strong addition to a collection of German officer’s insignia and field equipment.
