Original German Wound Badge in Silver (Verwundetenabzeichen in Silber), manufactured by Carl Wild, Hamburg, and maker marked “107” on the reverse.
The badge is constructed in zinc and retains a substantial amount of its original silver finish. The obverse displays crisp detailing to the helmet, crossed swords and surrounding wreath, with natural age-related wear consistent with an original wartime example.
The reverse is clearly maker marked “107”, identifying production by Carl Wild of Hamburg.
The badge is accompanied by an original period presentation case, featuring a dark red exterior and red velvet interior. The case shows appropriate age and storage wear but remains an attractive and desirable addition to the set.
