Original Imperial German Besitz-Zeugnis für das Verwundetenabzeichen (Wound Badge Certificate), issued under the authority of the Königliches Bezirkskommando Horb.
The certificate records the award of the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz (Wound Badge in Black) for one wound sustained during the First World War.
The recipient’s handwritten name appears to read Arnold Wolthaus (surname uncertain), born 17. Oktober 1889. His place of birth or residence is recorded on the document, although the handwriting is not entirely clear.
The certificate retains its attractive decorative oak-leaf border, original handwritten entries and official circular stamp of the Royal Prussian District Command in Horb. An interesting regional award document from the Imperial German period.
Condition
Noticeable age-related wear, with a pronounced horizontal fold across the centre, additional creasing, small tears and minor staining. The printed design, handwritten information and official stamp remain present.
