WWII Belgian “Geni” NCO Visor Cap
Original Belgian Army “Geni” NCO visor cap dating from the pre-WWII to early WWII period, featuring the distinctive Belgian national cockade and original engineer (“Genie / Geni”) branch insignia to the front.
The cap retains an attractive original shape, “Scharlakenrood” bies, and displays a pleasing field-used appearance overall. The exterior wool remains in solid condition with honest age and service wear visible throughout. Several small moth holes and minor damages are present, including a more noticeable moth-damaged area to the side/rear section (see photographs for details).
Inside, the cap still retains its original silk lining and sweatband. The interior shows age-related wear, staining and deterioration from prolonged storage and use. The sweatband carries the original “Superfine Quality” marking, still partially visible.
A desirable and increasingly difficult to find example of a Belgian interwar / early WWII NCO visor cap, especially with original insignia still present.
