WWII Luftwaffe WH-Führerschein – Schwere Flak-Ersatz-Abteilung 60 – 1941

Original WWII German Wehrmacht-Führerschein, issued to a Luftwaffe serviceman serving with Schwere Flak-Ersatz-Abteilung 60.

The military driving licence retains the original uniform portrait photograph, showing the owner in his Luftwaffe tunic. The document is officially stamped and signed and was issued on 25 November 1941. The licence appears to be entered for Klasse 2 und 3.

Of particular interest are the clearly visible unit markings for:

Schw. Flak-Ers. Abt. 60
Schwere Flak-Ersatz-Abteilung 60

Flak-Ersatz-Abteilung 60 was formed at Wismar in August 1939 and served as a Luftwaffe anti-aircraft replacement/training formation. Period unit histories place the formation at Wismar during this period; it was subsequently reorganised and later moved to Güstrow.

The Führerschein is in heavily used, untouched condition, with considerable edge wear, fraying, staining, folds and general service wear. Despite this, the important photograph, unit stamps and principal entries remain present. The amount of wear gives it a particularly authentic field-used appearance.

A nice named and photographed Luftwaffe Flak document, considerably more desirable than a generic Wehrmacht driving licence because of the identifiable Flak unit.

Condition: Heavily worn/service used, as shown.

Price

A standard photographed Wehrmacht-Führerschein can be quite inexpensive; for example, a current dealer example is listed at €25. However, I would place this one higher because of the Luftwaffe Flak unit attribution and prominent Schw. Flak-Ers.Abt. 60 stamps.
