Armin Köhler – Jagdgeschwader 77
Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo of Armin Köhler. Hauptmann Armin Köhler (31.03.1912 in Thalheim, Zwickau † 28.03.1999 in Gießen, Hessen) earned the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on February 7, 1945 as Hauptmann und Kommandeur of III. Gruppe/ Jagdgeschwader 77.
Awarded for his personal and command achievements. By the end of the war he had flown 515 sorties, achieving a total of 69 aerial victories (including 13 four-engined bombers) of which the vast majority were in the west.
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
