Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo of Georg Jura. Stabsfeldwebel Georg Jura (25.07.1912 in Gleiwitz † 27.01.1995 in Hanover) earned the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes on April 28, 1943 as Stabsfeldwebel und Führer of the 14. Kompanie/ Jäger-Regiment 49 of the 28. Infanterie-Division.
“Stabsfeldwebel Georg Jura… received the Knight’s Cross on the 28.04.1943 as a Zugführer in an MG-Kompanie. He had already previously distinguished himself in autumn 1941 during the battle of Vyazma. During the defense against strong Soviet attacks south of Lake Ladoga he personally decided to take over a Kompanie whose commander had become a casualty, and in this capacity he and his men fended off all subsequent enemy attacks.”
Provenance: This signature comes from one of the largest postwar signature collection I’ve ever commissioned. This collection was started by a Waffen-SS Veteran, Werner H., in the 1950’s until he passed away.
