VWA in Schwarz Award Doc – Alarm-Bataillon Litauen – 1943
Original WWII German Besitzzeugnis for the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz, awarded to Oberschütze Erich Zentsch, serving with Alarm-Bataillon Litauen.
The certificate states that Erich Zentsch was awarded the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz on the basis of a single wound/injury sustained on 28 February 1943.
The document is especially interesting due to the Alarm-Bataillon Litauen connection. Such certificates are an excellent way of documenting the individual service and wartime history of a particular recipient, while the specific unit designation gives the piece additional research potential.
The certificate comes together with soem more original administrative/registration documents, which contains later post-war entries and stamps. This provides an interesting additional provenance element and shows that the document remained with the recipient’s personal paperwork after the war.
Condition: Original period condition with age toning, folds and handling/storage wear. The original ink signature and official stamp remain clearly visible. No restoration or cleaning has been undertaken.
