VWA in Schwarz Award Doc – Unteroffizier – Nachrichten-Abteilung 76 (46. Infanterie-Division)

Original German Besitzzeugnis for the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz (Wound Badge in Black), awarded to Unteroffizier Wilhelm Oberdieck, serving with 1. Kompanie/ Nachrichten-Abteilung 76 of the 46. Infanterie-Division. The certificate records that Oberdieck had suffered a single wound or injury on 27 November 1943, for which he was awarded the black grade of the Verwundetenabzeichen. The document was issued in Krakau on 12 December 1943 and carries the original period Kriegssanitätsdienst / Reserve-Lazarett II Krakau stamp and an original handwritten signature.

The certificate is particularly interesting for its connection to Reserve-Lazarett II Krakau, one of the Wehrmacht’s military reserve hospitals in Krakau (occupied Kraków), where wounded and sick servicemen were treated and processed before returning to their units or being transferred elsewhere. Contemporary records confirm Reserve-Lazarett II Krakau as an active military hospital during this period.

Original wartime document with horizontal folding, light age-related toning and discoloration, minor handling/storage wear and two small imperfections at the upper edge. The printed text remains clear, while the original Krakau hospital stamp and handwritten signature are well preserved.
