Ostmedaille – Maker Marked 65 (Klein & Quenzer) + Ribbon & Ribbon Bar

€80,00

An original German Eastern Front Medal (Medaille für die Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42), commonly known as the Ostmedaille, awarded for service on the Eastern Front during the winter campaign of 1941–1942. The medal features the German eagle holding a swastika above crossed branches on the obverse. The reverse bears the inscription “WINTERSCHLACHT IM OSTEN 1941/42”, with a crossed sword and branch beneath.

The medal is maker-marked “65” on the suspension ring, identifying the manufacturer as Klein & Quenzer AG, Idar-Oberstein, a recognised producer of German military decorations during the Second World War.

The medal retains its red ribbon with the distinctive central black stripe bordered by white stripes. Included is a matching ribbon bar featuring the same ribbon colours, making this an attractive set for collectors of German WWII medals and decorations.

Condition: The medal shows visible age-related wear, with loss of the original finish, surface oxidation and small areas of discolouration. The suspension ring remains present, and the medal retains its ribbon. The matching ribbon bar is also included. Please examine the photographs carefully for the item’s precise condition.

An appealing maker-marked Ostmedaille by Klein & Quenzer, complete with its ribbon and matching ribbon bar.
