Complete except for the leaves pages with photo, some lose pages and backside.

During his service, he earned 4x Awards of which 2 in 1940. He fought in Poland (1939) incl. at Lemberg, Gorlic, France in 1940 and the Eastern front..! He earned the Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 13. März 1938, the Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse on July 3, 1940, the Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen on October 12, 1940 and the Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/1942 on July 17, 1942. He died of his serious wounds on January 29, 1943 after being shot in the belly by a Machinepistol a day before. Very well filled out!

Original Soldbuch of Obergefreiter Franz Buttkereit, born in Berlin, who served with the 1. Kompanie/ Pionier-Bataillon 208 & Stab/ Pionier-Bataillon 257. He earned the Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse (Iron Cross 2nd Class) for his service on March 8, 1943, the Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen (Assault Badge) on April 23, 1943 and the Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz (Wound Badge in Black) on April 22, 1943. In February 1943 (?), he most likely was hit by a bullet for which he spent time in hospital. Afterwards at late 1944, he rejoined the fighting forces and received a new rifle in December 1944 to take part in Operation Nordwind and the battles at Saarpfalz etc. with the Pionier-Bataillon 257. He was last promoted in January 1945! Good condition, complete with photo. Comes with an extra document of his release from French captivity.

Original brass dog tag of the Imperial Japanese Army (陸軍) for 2nd Lieutenant (少尉) Hoshino (星野) Kumao (熊雄) whom served with the Infantry (歩兵). Measuring: 4,85×3,1cm. The cotton string was likely added afterwards and not original to the dogtag. Officers had to purchase their own dog tags and especially early, they never mentioned an unit. Japanese dog tags are very scarce, especially officers!
