Georg Vilzmann – Ardennes (Accredited with 53 Nahkampftage)
€300,00Small lot of SS-Obersturmführer Georg Vilzmann. Most notably, he’s accredited with 53 Close Combat Days (but didn’t earn the NKIG) and he was also recommended for the German Cross in Gold. He fought in the Ardennes, and part of his memoires are available online to read (ex. here: https://erenow.net/ww/ardennes-1944-1945-hitlers-winter-offensive/12.php), he fought with the SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 4 “Der Führer”.

Infanterie-Division. Gefreiter Wendel didn’t survive the war and was Killed in Action on September 9, 1942 in Rshew, Russia.. The 72. Infanterie-Division was a highly decorated Division within the Wehrmacht including 9 Nahkampfspange in Gold-Trägers (Close Combat Badge in Gold-bearers)!
He earned 4 awards: Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse, Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42, Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz and the Königlich Bulgarische Bronzene Veridenstmedaille ohne Krone am Kriegsband.
The set consists of:

Panzer-Grenadier-Division. The 3. Infanterie-Division was destroyed in Stalingrad and later rebuild and reformed as a Panzer-Grenadier-Division. This division fought atSalerno, Cassino & Anzio in Italy, France, Germany, the Ardennes-Offensive & ending in the Ruhr pocket.
Throughout his service he earned 5x Awards! 3 of them on the Western Front: Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse (Iron Cross 2nd Class) on September 23, 1944 (if I see it clearly), the Allgemeines-Sturmabzeichen (General Assault Badge) on December 3, 1944 and the Kraftfahrbewährungsabzeichen in Bronze (Driver’s Profiency Badge in Bronze) on January 30, 1945!
His written battle calender especially lists fightings in the area of Rome & also fighting with Bandits.

Overall good condition but was folded in the past.
While searching the Gefallenenmeldungen, there’s a Nikolaus Loch who was Killed in Action on July 26, 1943 while serving with the 4./ Panzer-Aufklärungs-Abteilung 116. The Kradschützen-Bataillon 165 formed the Panzer-Aufklärungs-Abteilung 116, so there’s a big chance it’s him. I’ve added that per illustration.
