Panzer-Division (“The Ghost Division”), featuring three award certificates — two of which are hand-signed by none other than Erwin Rommel, also known as the legendary “Desert Fox” and the soldier’s awards and dogtag. This rare set represents a true centerpiece for any advanced WWII militaria collection!

• Award Certificate for the Panzerkampfabzeichen in Silber – Hand-signed by Generalfeldmarschall Erwin Rommel, which is one of the most highly sought-after signatures, from one of Germany’s most iconic commanders. Earned during the Western Campaign in 1940.

• Award Certificate for the Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse (Iron Cross 2nd Class) – Also hand-signed by Erwin Rommel, adding even more immense historical and collector value. Earned also during the Western Campaign in 1940.

A rare and historically significant set comprising the death notification letter and a selection of original photographs of Fritz Klasing, a distinguished recipient of the Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves.

Accompanying the death letter (postwar) are several period photographs showcasing Klasing in uniform and civil, including several wearing his Knight’s Cross. These photographs are believed to be unpublished and offer collectors a rare glimpse into Klasing’s military service and personality.

A must-have for any serious collector of WWII militaria or Knight’s Cross documentation.

SS-Unterscharführer Remi Schrijnen (24.12.1921 † 27.07.2006) earned the Ritterkreuz on September 21, 1944 as SS-Sturmmann und Richtschütze in the 6. Kompanie/ 6. SS-Freiwilligen-Sturmbrigade “Langemarck”. Condition as seen. Smaller than postcardsize.

Knight’s Cross: “On 29.07.1944 Schrijnen was serving as the crew of a Pak 40 in the middle of a major Soviet tank/infantry attack. His position was hit by a heavy artillery barrage, with several rounds impacting just 10 metres behind the gun. Schrijnen was hit by several shell splinters, but the four other crewman all became casualties. Under the weight of the Soviet attack the order was given to withdraw. Schrijnen however disobeyed the order and remained behind to cover his comrades. Despite being wounded, exhausted and vastly outnumbered he was still able to knock out 4 T-34s and 3 IS-2s before his gun was destroyed. Later, counterattacking German forces found Schrijnen unconscious on the battlefield. He would receive the Knight’s Cross for his actions this day as well as for prior successes as an anti-tank gunner.”

SS-Sturmbannführer Heinz Macher (31.12.1919 † 21.12.2001) earned the Ritterkreuz on April 3, 1943 as SS-Untersturmführer und Kompanieführer of the 16. Kompanie/ SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 3 “Deutschland” and the Eichenlaub on August 19, 1944 as SS-Obersturmführer und Kompaniechef of the 16. Kompanie/ SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 3 “Deutschland” of the 2. SS-Panzer-Division “Das Reich”. Macher also earned the Nahkampfspange in Gold on October 18, 1944. Postcardsize. Condition as seen.

Original Postwar Signature on a Postwar Photo of Otto Günsche. Otto Günsche (24.09.1917 † 02.10.2003) earned the Verwundetenabzeichen “20. Juli 1944” in Schwarz and was a member of the Leibstandarte-SS Adolf Hitler before he became Adolf Hitler’s personal adjutant. Condition as seen. Postcardsize.

With the end of Nazi Germany imminent, Günsche was tasked by Hitler on 30 April 1945 with ensuring the cremation of his body after his death. That afternoon, he stood guard outside the room in the Führerbunker where Hitler and Eva Braun committed suicide. After waiting a short time, Hitler’s valet, Heinz Linge, opened the study door with Martin Bormann at his side. The two men entered the study with Günsche right behind them. Günsche then left the study and announced that Hitler was dead to a group in the briefing room, which included Joseph Goebbels, General Hans Krebs, and General Wilhelm Burgdorf. Günsche had the table and chairs in the study moved out of the way and blankets were laid out on the floor. Hitler and Braun’s lifeless bodies were then wrapped in blankets. In accordance with Hitler’s prior written and verbal instructions, his and Braun’s bodies were carried up the stairs and through the bunker’s emergency exit to the garden behind the Reich Chancellery to be burned. Having ensured that the corpses were burnt using petrol supplied by Hitler’s chauffeur Erich Kempka, Günsche later left the Führerbunker after midnight on 1 May. On 2 May 1945, Günsche was taken prisoner by Soviet Red Army troops that were encircling the city and flown to Moscow for sharp interrogation by the NKVD.

• Winterschlacht im Osten 1941/42 award certificate, signed by the Batteriechef Oberleutnant Kurtz.

Original Wehrpass of a SS-Sturmmann who served with the SS-Nachrichten-Ausbildungs und Ersatz-Bataillon 5, the SS-Panzer-Nachrichten-Kompanie 54 before serving with the Stabsbatterie III./ SS-Artillerie-Regiment 54 of the SS-Freiwilligen-Panzergrenadier-Brigade/Division “Nederland”. He was promoted on December 1, 1944 during the fighting in Kurland. The signature on the promotion is SS-Untersturmführer Kratochwill (who came over from the Luftwaffe in August 1944).
