The award document for the Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen was signed on October 31, 1942 during the severe fightings and survived the pocket (perhaps send out before the encirclement). Document was signed by the regimental commander Brandt who was awarded the Ritterkreuz in Stalingrad but didn’t survive and was KIA in January 1943 in Stalingrad!

Wehrpass SS-Polizei (Hilversum) & SS-Flak-Abteilung 10 “Frundsberg” (Normandy, Arnhem)

Original Waffen-SS Wehrpass of SS-Unterscharführer Bande, who served with the 5. Kompanie/ SS-Polizei-Regiment 5 until he got wounded on January 1, 1941. Then several Genesung (Recovery) and Ersatz (Reserve) units before ending with the 3. Batterie/ SS-Flak-Abteilung 10 of the 10. SS-Panzer-Division “Frundsberg”. Took part in several Lehrgänge (Courses) most interestingly as a 88 cm Geschützführerlehrang (Gun leader of a 8,8cm). He most likely took part in the division’s first battles in Ukraine in April 1944. Afterwards, the unit was transferred to the west, where it fought the Allies in France during the Battle of Normandy and later at Arnhem during Operation Market Garden. The division was moved to Pomerania, then fought south east of Berlin in the Lusatian area until the end of the war. Complete with all pages and photo. Condition as seen.

Wehrpass – Grenadier-Regiment 736 (Sword Beach, Fought against Canadians)

Original Wehrpass (Military ID) of Gefreiter Görtz who served with the 11. Kompanie/ Grenadier-Regiment 736 of the 716. Infanterie-Division. Just prior to the Invasion of Normandy on April 1, 1944 he was promoted to Gefreiter. The unit was positioned near Luc-sur-Mer at Sword Beach! Comes with a few photos, paper and old money.

Find a little more info, that the Kompanie also defended itself against Canadian landings at Tailleville. Read more: Battle of Douvres Radar Station.

Battalion III./ Grenadier-Regiment 736, Feldpost FpNr: 43019 was commanded by Major Pipor. His HQ at Cresserons, was also the Gefechtsstand: KVU-Gr. Luc (KV-Gruppe Riva Bella). A Bodenständigen: static (garrison) battalion it had virtually no transport. Its commander positioned two of his companies, in such a way that he would influence the first two days of the battle of Douvres radar station.

Kompanie 11 ( Kdr Hauptmann Hans Gutsche), with Stab-Zug: South of Tailleville, Second in command: Oberleutnant Heinrich Korzilius. Tasked as Battalion III./ Reserve Kp11., was sited Northwest of Douvres, South of Tailleville: Hinzu kommen Positionen in offener Feltmessige Anlage (Fa) in Type 1 Field Trenches, with 12 machine guns and one Kp. Mortar. It would hold up a Canadian attempt to flank the site and attack it from the northwest

The most strongly defended position, in the Canadian sector, it was not taken on D-Day, its approaches well defended by Kompanie 11./ Battalion III./ Grenadier-Regtiment 736., sited astride the D219 road and in La Bruyere Wood

Grouping Küstenflieger & Kampfgeschwader 54 (Shot Down Normandy! Ehrenpokal!)

Original Luftwaffe (Air Force) award document set of Ehrenpokal (Honor Goblet) Recipient Oberfeldwebel Willy Kuhn who served with the Küstenfliegergruppe 806 (later renamed to Kampfgruppe 806) and later became part of the Kampfgeschwader 54. He flew missions on the Western Front against the France and United Kingdom and later on the Eastern Front. Later on he even took part in North-Africa and Italy before being moved back to Germany. Most notably, on June 6, 1944 Kuhn’s Junker Ju-88 was shot down over Lion-sur-Mer during bombing the Allied Invasion Fleet. He was first reported as Killed in Action however he was the sole survivor! He ended the war as a British POW.

Also interestingly, Kuhn earned BOTH the Frontflugspange für Kampfflieger in Gold and the Frontflugspange für Transportflieger in Gold! Normally, you only would earn one of the two! He was decorated with the Ehrenpokal, but this document is not within the group. Excellent grouping with lots of research potential.
